Large Automation Company is seeking a General Manager for their Johannesburg Branch. We are currently seeking a General Manager to join our client's team and ensure the growth and stability of the business. You will also be required to proactively plan and implement strategic initiatives to ensure acceptable return on investment and to drive the organisation to achieve the objectives set out in the business and strategic plans. Key areas of responsibility: Strategic Planning - Ensure the long-term profitability of all branches - Formulate a strategic plan for the company and set objectives for all key staff - Set parameters for budgeting purposes, check and approve individual budgets - Monitor performance against plans Sales and Marketing - Improve customer satisfaction and establish sound customer relations and sales strategies - Develop sales and marketing strategies in conjunction with managers - Identify new markets and provide guidelines on how these should be penetrated - Visit key customers to establish healthy relationships and ensure good service - Co-ordinate market information, formulate sales plans and monitor sales performance - Make decisions on pricing levels and maintain stable networks with suppliers and customers Financial Control - Ensure sound financial controls and set annual budget parameters - Analyse management financial statements monthly and take corrective action - Approve CAPEX within the approved framework and decide on creditor purchases Asset Management - Ensure sound asset management, maintenance and safety of company assets - Monitor depreciation, stock levels and WIP against budget - Monitor debtors and the company's cash flow position Human Resource Management - Ensure conformance to sound HR practices and create a winning team culture - Plan training and development, and approve appointments/dismissals within framework - Manage performance of key staff and motivate salary increases/bonuses Quality and Safety - Maintain quality and safety standards and ISO ratings within the region - Responsible for the safety of staff, assets and property, and legal compliance Workshop and Warehouse - Ensure workshop and warehouse quality processes are adhered to - Manage labour recoveries and optimise stock management Qualifications and experience: - Degree/Higher Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Technical or Financial disciplines - Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar environment and role - Ability to function in a multidisciplinary and time-driven environment - Commercial acumen
