Core Purpose:
In order to ensure efficient and effective testing processes, this position is responsible but not limited to an ongoing automation testing by creating automated scripts for applications including functionality and application programming interfaces (APIs). The scripts will be run in any environment where necessary.

Key Deliverables:
Automation Planning, Design, Development, and execution
• Produce test plans to automate applications and APIs,
• Develop test scripts
• Maintain automated test scripts
• Apply continuous automation testing execution by using tools like Jenkins, etc with Micro focus technologies.
• Produce test sign-off reports
• Responsible to develop and improve automation frameworks by using approved testing tools.
• Collaborate and discuss Automation requirements with other teams, propose and implement solutions for overall E2E Automation, based on new features, services, products, and environments.
• Accountable to Analyse and troubleshoot automation issues
• Support automation proof of concepts to deliver and promote automation within IT Command Centre
Vendor Management
• Maintain vendor interaction for automation and monitoring platforms, designs, and technologies
• Manage dependencies and expectations between multi sourcing vendors
• Manage and coordinate test automation with the suppliers
Capacity Management
• Plan and Maintain capacity through automation capability
• Apply automation to free up capacity manual testers so that they can focus on other detailed testing requirements.
• Apply automation to reduce time spend during sanity and smoke testing as well as regression testing
• Manage capacity based on organic growth and project related requirements informed by automation requirements
Demand Management
• Manage demand for unplanned automation requirements
• Assist other departments with Automation Requirements by providing technical input into Test Cases
• Action day to day requests for Automation and Monitoring services raised by our stakeholders regarding monitoring script run in pre-production and production environments
Continuous Improvement and Optimisation
• Framework – provide thought leadership to improve and implement changes to the framework
• Tools – implement tools improvements to benefit new features
• Scripting – Innovative scripting process
• Active collaboration – Involve manual testers to be able to run the automated test scripts themselves
• Research new automation technologies and conduct proof of concept projects to demonstrate possible value to IT and Business
Financial Management
• Provide the technical information required by Management team to raise and procure automation enhancing services
• Identify and eliminate non-contributory expenditures
Project Management
• Complete automation tasks within a project and highlight automation testing timelines
• Report on automation progress to the stakeholders
• Manage multiple automation project simultaneously
Governance
• Ensure that testing processes is followed at all times including the use of the testing tools and its structures implemented
• Compliance and adherence to Policies, Standards and Frameworks in remediation of audit findings.
• Ensure alignment with IT Best Practices such as ISTQB, ITIL, TOGAF, eTOM, CoBIT, PMP, PPM, etc.
Communication, Coordination, Cooperation, and Collaboration
• Support the development and maintenance of sound interpersonal relationships to build Healthier Business Relationships, Lesser Misunderstanding, Increased Human Capital Awareness, Strong Decision Making, Quicker Problem Solving, Increased Productivity, Improved Customer Relationship, and Enhanced Professional Image.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies):
Education:
• Minimum 3-year bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent qualification is essential
• ISTQB/SASTQB Foundation Certification
• Fluency in English
Experience:
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience including the following:
• Technical expertise in end-to-end IT Infrastructure/Applications Automation including APIs
• Proven experience in creating automated scripts using UFT one (Functional and API tool), UFT Mobile (Mobile automation, i.e., Mobile Apps)
• Experience working in Agile and or DevOps,
• Knowledge, and application of CI/CD shall be an added advantage
• High technical knowledge in automating Mobile, Web, Portals and USSDs
• Experience working in telecommunication shall be an added advantage
