Systems Engineer

Introduction We are looking for a VMware and Veeam System Engineer. We are looking for an individual that has a strong technical ability as well as a good communication ability for our X86 team. This offers an opportunity for sustainable growth and the ability to develop. The role requires continual training and development. Duties & Responsibilities VMware • Architect and deploy VMware solutions to meet client specifications. • Day-to-day operational support for client VMware Environment. • Perform installations, migrations, and disaster recovery operations. • VMware ESX Management, Patching and Troubleshooting. • Advanced troubleshooting experience on ESX servers is essential. • Experience in VMware ESXi, vSphere, Capacity Planner, vMotion, DRS, etc. Veeam • Veeam software installation & platform upgrades. • Administration of Backup environment with Veeam Backup technology. • Configuring and supporting daily tasks with backup repository configuration, Cloud storage configuration for backup repository with AWS and replication technology with Veeam. • Experience in recovering data from other threats using Veeam. • Migration of the old backup environment to a new setup consisting of Veeam technology. • Understanding of Backup data lifecycle management policy and how to implement it. • Configuring data replication across sites for data redundancy and have performed Disaster recovery. • Experience in Backup Administration, performing various tasks from the backup console & monitoring a backup environment. • Hands-on experience in Policy creation & deletion, Managing the attributes of policies like a backup of Windows, Linux & databases. • Troubleshooting backup failures and providing resolutions. • Performing Snapshot for backup environment. • Create and maintain SOPs and processes for the smooth functioning of the backup environment. Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (Training will be provided if required) • Understanding of xClarity. • Server hardware repairs and replacements. • Understanding of Lenovo Systems and Storage. • Ideally certified in DCP-116c and DCP-117c. General • The role requires good communication and customer interaction skills. As you will be directly client-facing. • Be able to provide a root cause analysis and mitigation plans. • Document complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware. • Work with Business Applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from other departments. • Provides technical guidance and assistance to other Infrastructure engineers. • Pre-sales experience would be advantageous. Desired Experience & Qualification • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE). • Minimum 4 years of experience in VMWare with 3 years of hands-on experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining medium to large environments. • It is critical that you have extensive VMware ESX and vCenter experience. • Ideally VCP certified.
